The top eight women in tennis come dressed to the nines for their draw at the WTA Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Dane Caroline Wozniacki, Russians Svetlana Kuznetsova and Dinara Safina, American sisters Serena and Venus Williams, Serbia's Jelena Jankovic, along with Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and Elena Dementieva all made an elegant entrance to the ceremony ahead of the season-ending round-robin/knockout tournament starting today.

The equation could not be simpler -- whoever performs best out of Safina and American Serena Williams at this week's WTA Championships in Doha will end the year as the WTA number one. The draw appeared to hand the advantage to 23-year-old Safina as she was placed in the easier of the two four-women groups that will be contested at the Khalifa Tennis Centre on the shores of the Persian Gulf.
