Buyers of new TV sets have for long dodged payment of their licences as their sets are not being registered with the TV licensing unit of the Ministry for Transport and Communication, while those still hanging on to old sets continue to pay their licences. Can the ministry concerned please come up with an explanation why it has allowed this discrimination to creep in? Owners of old sets now demand equal treatment with new buyers by having their licences removed. Making the new buyers pay is out of the question as the situation has now got out of hand.
