An 18-year-old man was yesterday granted bail against a personal guarantee of €6,000 (Lm2,575) pending sentencing after he pleaded guilty to defiling two teenage girls.

The man, who cannot be named by court order, pleaded guilty to defiling the girls aged 16 and 13 on and before April this year. Magistrate Miriam Hayman also heard the accused plead guilty to offending public morals.

Police Inspectors Kevin Farrugia, Graziella Muscat and Melvyn Camilleri prosecuted.

Lawyers Edward Gatt and Chris Cardona were defence counsel.
