A man was jailed for eight months after he admitted to complicity in an attempted theft from a pharmacy in Valletta.

Vincent Cucciardi pleaded guilty to being an accomplice in an attempted theft from British Dispensary pharmacy and relapsing on August 1, 2002.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke noted that Mr Cucciardi's criminal record indicated he had committed various crimes over a number of years. The court took into consideration the fact that when Mr Cucciardi was given a suspended sentence or put under probation he still did not change his ways. The court therefore jailed him for eight months.

Police Inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted.
