Most F1 teams are taking part in a group test at Spa Francorchamps between today and Thursday.

With the contest tight at the top and the middle of the table, the teams are seeking to maximise their testing slots ahead of the summer break.

Ferrari, for example, will also be testing at Jerez between July 24 and 27 and at Monza a month later between August 28 and 30. So will the other teams.

McLaren, hoping to recover the pace advantage they have lost to Ferrari, will have both race drivers for the current test. Lewis Hamilton is on duty today and Fernando Alonso takes over tomorrow and on Thursday.

The first results from Spa this morning showed Felipe Massa (Ferrari ) leading on 1:48.521 followed by Robert Kubica (BMW Sauber ) on 1:48.921 (+ 0.400) and Hamilton on 1:48.981 (+ 0.460)
