The Faculty of Education announces an international conference on 'Teacher Education for Responding to Student Diversity'. The conference will be held at the Dolmen Resort Hotel Malta between June 14 and 16. It is partly sponsored by the EU as part of a Socrates Comenius 2.1 Project Differentiated Teaching Module primary (DTMp), co-ordinated by Dr Paul Bartolo, and run in collaboration with six other EU partners, namely the universities of Leipzig, Manchester, Inholland, Dalarna, Marijampole College and the NGO Motivace - Zivotni Styl.

This three-day conference aims to bring together teacher educators from across Europe to share ideas on enabling pre- and in-service teachers to develop more responsiveness to the diversity of student strengths and needs in their school and classroom. The main speaker will be Professor Mel Ainscow from the University of Manchester. A key symposium will consist of the presentation of the teacher education package on responding to student diversity, including a handbook in seven language editions, as well as the same package as an online six-ECTS credits teacher education course, and a tutor's manual. More information about the conference and online submission of papers and registration are available on the faculty Webpage www.educ.um.edu.mt/dtmp
