Talks aimed at preventing or reducing job losses at security printer De La Rue are continuing, Economic Services Minister Chris Cardona said today.

The firm announced in December it would be shedding 300 jobs as it phases out the printing of  banknotes to focus on Identity and Security Products.

Dr Cardona told Nationalist MP David Agius in reply to a parliamentary question that the talks were aimed to ensure that jobs were not lost and to consider the possibility of offering the company new opportunities in its own fields so as to keep it in Malta.
