Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg this evening tabled invoices, payments and terms of engagement for works that were carried out on his properties in the Rabat countryside.

They include Central Asphast, Terracore, Ballut Blocks and RedMap Ltd.

The works, he said, started late last year but had stopped temporarily because of investigations.

The investigations were launched after the Commissioner for the Environment and Planning within the Office of the Ombudsman said that Dr Borg’s permit for the construction of two dwellings had been issued following a “grave error” by the planning authority and called for it to be reviewed.

The commissioners report had been published by the Times of Malta in its entirety.

Dr Borg also tabled a note from the former owners of the property who noted that they were mentioned regularly because Dr Borg bought the property from them.

They said they had nothing to do with the claims that were being made and understood that their planning application that had been refused, was different to that of Dr Borg.

In a statement, the Labour Party said that PN deputy leaders Mario de Marco and Beppe Fenech Adami should do the same for the sake of transparency.
