Malta Resources Authority inspectors this afternoon paid a surprise visit to the Easygas headquarters in Luqa following claims that the company was filling cylinders belonging to its competitor Liquigas with its own gas, reselling them as a Liquigas product.

The inspectors, who were accompanied by the police, stopped an Easygas distributor as he was exiting the building and took two small cylinders from the truck, an Easygas grey one and a Liquigas yellow one, they weighed the cylinders on the spot, sealed them and took them away in a police car.

The MRA officers would not comment on the operation but sources said they were sent there to the premises to investigate the foul play claims.
