An impressive second-half showing from Mark Miller's U-19 national team yesterday against Bosnia, earned Malta a draw as the second day from the UEFA mini-tournament was played in Limassol.

Bosnia, who had lost their opening match on Sunday against hosts Cyprus 3-1, went in for the break enjoying a double lead after goals from Hadzimehmedovic (30th) and Medisevic (34th), both profiting from some hesitant defending by the Maltese.

But after the interval, Malta went all out on attack, penning their opponents inside their own half for most of the time. In the end, the draw was fully deserved for Malta who could have notched all three points but the woodwork came to Bosnia's rescue as Miller's boys were constantly pounding on the opponents' goal.

Right on the hour mark, Hamrun midfielder Mauro Brincat curled home a spectacular goal from a free-kick and six minutes later Blackpool-based Jonathan Fenech scored a great goal for Malta after dribbling past two Bosnia defenders before hitting past the goalkeeper.

The Bosnians were stunned but Ryan Newell's firm header from a 71st minute corner stamped against the bar with the goalkeeper beaten. Thomas Caruana then shot slightly wide from outside the box and Newell failed to connect to an inviting Brincat free-kick.

Malta, who lost their opening match against Norway 2-0, still have an outside chance of clinching the runners-up spot and qualification if they beat Cyprus in the last match tomorrow.

Cyprus have full points from two matches. Yesterday, they beat Norway 1-0.
