The eighth edition of the Marsovin Summer Wine Festival was opened on Thursday by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

The festival, which is launching Marsovin’s newest wine, Blanc De Cheval, aims at promoting the wine producer’s certified DOK (Denominazzjoni ta’ Oriġini Kontrollata) and IĠT (Indikazzjoni Ġeografika Tipika) wines.

By promoting and supporting Maltese wine, consumers were also supporting Maltese agriculture, according to Marsovin CEO Jeremy Cassar, who pointed out that the quality of Maltese wine had improved significantly over the last 20 years.

This year’s edition of the festival that brings together wine, food and music is being held at Hastings Gardens in Valletta, until tomorrow between 8pm and 1am.
