Close to 700 participants came together in Buġibba on Sunday to celebrate the anniversary of the Olympic Movement in Malta by participating in the annual Olympic Day Run, supported by McDonalds-Malta.

After the cyclists, who included members of the Razzett tal-Ħbiberija group, had taken off, over 300 runners took part in the 10K and 5K. Close to 200 students from a number of schools, including Stella Maris, St Joseph, Sliema and Erin Serracino Inglott School, Cospicua, came along with their parents and did the 2.5K route.

At the end of this celebration event, MOC president Lino Farrugia Sacco and secretary general Joseph Cassar presented certificates and commemorative plaques to the 'largest' groups of participants and sports organisations.

The running club category was again topped by Żurrieq Wolves and the school plaque was given to Stella Maris.
