Earlier this month, two girls over 20 were going to Manoel Island when they were stopped by the police because they were suspected of abusing drugs. After a barrage of questions it was found that the girls paid €60 for three packets of cocaine each containing 0.1g. Of course, the parents never got to know that their children were addicted to drugs because nobody ever told them. Although it is true that when one is of age one is accountable for one’s actions, how many more addicts have to die because they could not be helped by their parents as they did not know what was going on?

It is not children’s rights we need to work on but parents’ rights!
