The Stray Animals Support Group has a neutering programme for stray cats and dogs and is appealing for volunteers so it can continue its work.

"This is an expensive programme and we depend a lot on the generosity of animal lovers," said Margaret Galea Souchet from the group.

The group, which also has three second-hand shops that help generate money for this project, needs volunteers to help out with its shop in San Ġwann between 9.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.

This is an opportunity for anyone with a few hours to spare, any day between Monday and Saturday. It could be a rewarding experience and anyone who enjoys meeting people and likes working in shops should enjoy this challenge. Just one morning a week would be appreciated by the group.

The group also needs good quality second-hand books, costume jewellery, bags, shoes, household goods, DVDs and clothes, which it sells at reduced prices. This helps it to meet the increasing costs of neutering strays. The goods should be delivered to its shops.
