Muniesa: Stoke defender Marc Muniesa has agreed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club. The Barcelona academy prospect, 23, opted to leave the Spanish club in the summer of 2013 to sign for Mark Hughes’s side and has become an increasingly important presence due to his versatility.

Garrido: Las Palmas have reached an agreement to sign former Manchester City and Lazio left-back Javier Garrido. The 30-year-old, who was available on a free transfer after leaving Norwich City, has agreed a one-year deal with the newly-promoted Primera Division club with the option of another season after that. Reports said Garrido will undergo a medical on Monday prior to his scheduled presentation.

Cup tie off: The Palestinian Football Federation postponed the final Palestine Cup game between the champions from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank after Israel denied entry permits to some of the Gaza players. The Shejaia club from the Gaza Strip must pass through an Israeli border crossing to reach the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, where tomorrow’s game was scheduled to be played, and to do so needs approval from Israel.

Rafael: Defender Rafael could make his Lyon debut tomorrow just days after completing his move from Manchester United. Lyon will be without full-back Christophe Jallet, who picked up a groin injury during training on Thursday, and they will turn to Rafael if he is eligible to play in the home game against Lorient.

Fired: The head of CONCACAF has been fired following the FBI investigation into corruption allegations at FIFA. “Enrique Sanz was terminated from his employment with CONCACAF this week,” a source close to the confederation said. The regional body put Sanz on “indefinite leave” following the indictment of the body’s president Jeffrey Webb in May and he had been “provisionally suspended” from all football-related activities by FIFA in June.

Gnabry: West Brom have signed Arsenal’s midfielder Serge Gnabry on loan. The club’s official website said the deal was for the whole of the new season. Gnabry, born in Stuttgart, is a German U-21 international who has played 19 times for Arsenal.
