PSG fans' march: PSG supporters took part in a silent march ahead of the team's Ligue 1 match in Nantes yesterday as a tribute to a fan shot dead by a policeman last week. Police said they had authorised the march, near Nantes' Beaujoire stadium. Julien Quemener, a 25-year-old PSG fan, was shot dead by a policeman following PSG's 4-2 defeat by Hapoel Tel Aviv in the UEFA Cup on Thursday. Witnesses said the black policeman opened fire on a mob of PSG fans who were chasing a Jewish supporter of the Israeli team outside Parc des Princes in Paris. The policeman, who said he had acted in self-defence, has not been charged.

Apology: Ajax striker Kenneth Perez has apologised for racially abusing a linesman during the match against Twente Enschede last week. "I regret what I said... everyone who knows me, knows I am not a racist," Perez said, adding the incident happened in the heat of the moment. Perez was accused of the racial abuse in an article in the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper on Saturday. A Dutch soccer league spokesman said that they will examine the case today before the prosecutor decides if action will be taken against the striker.

Ref sends off six: A referee sent off five players and a team coach in a Spanish second division match between Almeria and Xerez. Antonio Mateu Lahoz took his time to warm to the task and did not show his first red card until nine minutes into the second half of Saturday's game, but then brandished another five in the last eight minutes. Almeria had four players sent off but still held Xerez to a 1-1 draw with the visitors receiving two red cards, including one for coach Pepe Murcia who was ordered out of the dug out in the 82nd minute for back-chat to the referee.

Ronaldinho: Ronaldinho said that he fulfilled a childhood dream by wrapping up Barcelona's 4-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday with his spectacular overhead kick three minutes from time. "I didn't really think too much about it because it just happened on the spur of the moment," said the 26-year-old who had scored Barca's opener from the penalty spot. "When I controlled the ball it stood up just right and everything else worked out perfectly. Ever since I was a young boy I've dreamed of scoring a goal like that. I'm never going to forget this goal. Now I have to try for my other dream goal which is to score from the halfway line."
