Celtic: Celtic have signed midfielder Scott Brown from Hibernian for £4.4 million - a record transfer fee between Scottish clubs. The Scotland international has agreed a five-year deal. Brown's last match for Hibs could be against Celtic this Sunday in the final league match of the season. The previous record fee between two Scottish clubs involved the 1993 transfer of striker Duncan Ferguson from Dundee United to Rangers for £4 million.

Swiss League: FC Zurich's one-point lead at the top of the Swiss league has been allowed to stand following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The court upheld last month's verdict by the Swiss league which punished fellow top division side St Gallen for fielding an ineligible player in their 0-0 draw with Zurich on April 1. The defending champions were awarded a 3-0 win and now remain a point ahead of FC Basel with three matches remaining.

Sheffield United, who were relegated from the Premier League, said they had sent an arbitration notice to the Premier League.

Ujpest: The Hungarian FA deducted three points from first division club Ujpest for the inappropriate behaviour of their supporters. The club was charged after their fans directed racist abuse at Debrecen's Senegalese striker Ibrahima Sidibe during Ujpest's 2-0 win on May 4. Ujpest remain fourth in the league but are out of the running for UEFA Cup qualification.

Panathinaikos: Former Spanish international Victor Munoz has been sacked as coach of Panathinaikos. An official announcement is expected in the next two weeks although the news was widely reported by Greek media yesterday. Munoz only took over at the club in October 2006 but an indifferent season that Panathinaikos finished a distant third in the Super League and were defeated in the Greek Cup final by unfancied Larissa has cost him his job.
