ELLUL. On August 10, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, RITA, aged 73, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss, her children Josephine and her husband Vince Tonna, Miriam and her husband Luciano Chetcuti, Godwin and his wife Marianne, her grandchildren Elisabelle, Reuben, Katya and Ian, her sister Jessie, sisters-in-law Mary, Kitty and Carmeline, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

Christian family groups
George and Marie Louise Sammut of Qormi have been unanimously elected president couple of Christian family groups for the European region at the European Congress of the International Confederation of Christian Family Movements, held in Zagreb, Croatia.
Mr and Mrs Sammut succeed the couple Tony and Lily Gauci of Mellieha who had occupied the presidency for the last eight years.
The Christian Family Groups in Malta are run by the Cana Movement.
First aid courses
St John Ambulance will be holding first aid courses this month at its headquarters in Valletta.
An evening course, starting on August 22 at 6.30 p.m., consists of nine weekly lectures. Each session lasts two hours.
Another course spread over four days will start on August 26 and ends on August 29. Sessions will be held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Red Cross courses
The Malta Red Cross Society is holding courses in basic first aid.
A course in Maltese will be held on August 18, 20, 25 and 27 between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Another course, also in Maltese, will be held on August 19, 21, 26 and 28 between 5.30 and 9 p.m.
Courses will be held at 104, St Ursula Street, Valletta.
