Following a rigorous inspection process, am Language Studio, EC Malta, Inlingua, the Institute of English Language Studies, NSTS - ELI and Sprachcaffe recently qualified for accreditation under the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations of Malta accreditation scheme, which covers the English language schools' premises and environment, student welfare, academic matters, and accuracy in marketing and promotion.

To date, eight schools have successfully completed the process leading to full accreditation, while another four schools are in its final phase. Membership of Feltom is open to all language schools that have been in operation for a minimum of two years and all current and future members are required to undergo inspection.

The accreditation scheme is heavily influenced by the British Council accreditation scheme used to accredit UK English language schools.

The local scheme is coordinated by an independent accreditation council, currently composed of Prof. Mark Borg as chairman, Nicholas Baldacchino and Feltom president, Andrew Mangion, which has a pool of independent inspectors who carry out the inspection of language schools on its behalf.

These inspectors have no connection with the EFL (English as a Foreign Language) industry but have a comprehensive experience in auditing ISO and quality management systems.
