Six men were arrested yesterday morning after the police Drug Squad discovered an undisclosed amount of heroin in a residence in Mosta as a result of investigations spread over a number of days, the police said.

The heroin was intended to be sold, the police said. They said investigations indicated that the residence in question was being used to traffic heroin.

The men, including the 32-year-old owner of the house who is "very well known to the police", are from Naxxar, Mosta and St Paul's Bay and are aged between 19 and 32, the police said.

The police said drug-related items were also found.

Investigations continue.
