Asian artist Sarkasi Said gave a demonstration of his art - silk batik at a cocktail party organised by Hotel Phoenicia. Said is in Malta holding an exhibition of some of his works at the Contemporary Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta.

"Watching Said at work was a truly engrossing experience - his wax-and-dye rhythm is harmoniously fluid, the canting makes effortless traces while his paintbrush moves with stylish grace," the hotel's spokesman said.

During the reception, Said created a floral batik art on silk in 45 minutes, which he named Phoenician Delight and later presented it to the hotel.
