Cagliari 0 Lazio 3

Substitute Tommaso Rocchi scored his 100th goal for Lazio to help his side move back to within a point of Serie A leaders Juventus tonight with a win at Cagliari.

Senad Lulic put the visitors ahead in the 39th minute before Miroslav Klose doubled Lazio's lead before the interval.

Rocchi then capped off a great night by scoring his team's third with two minutes to go as Cagliari's unbeaten run at their Sant' Elia stadium came to an unceremonious end.

Cagliari created chances but for the third time in four games failed to hit the net. They slipped to eighth as a result.

Siena 4 Chievo 1

Siena moved into the top half of Serie A with a comfortable 4-1 win over Chievo at the Stadio Artemio Franchi today.

Mattia Destro was on target twice with Gaetano D'Agostino and, finally, Emanuele Calaio scoring for the home side.

Davide Moscardelli scored a consolation for an off-colour Chievo, who remain just three points above the bottom three.

A dangerous cross from Franco Brienza was the most dangerous moment of the first 25 minutes which were dominated by fouls and interruptions.

Bologna 3 Atalanta 1

Bologna picked up a belated first home win of the Serie A season this afternoon with a come-from-behind victory over Atalanta.

German Denis put the visitors ahead in the seventh minute but Marco Di Vaio equalised from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.

Gaston Ramirez then put the home side in front early in the second half before former Atalanta defender Simone Loria rounded off the scoring with 22 minutes remaining.

The result marked Atalanta's second defeat of the campaign and left the Bergamaschi in 15th place, one point behind a Bologna side who celebrated their first win at home in eight months.

Fiorentina 1 Genoa 0

Fiorentina provided some relief to coach Sinisa Mihajlovic with a 1-0 win over Genoa at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Andrea Lazzari's goal just before half-time was enough to earn the Viola all three points and ease some of the pressure on Mihajlovic following the team's poor recent run.

The Serbian coach needed a good performance from his side, and his players did not let him down as they deservedly beat a negative Genoa.

Lecce 1 Novara 1

Lecce and Novara both remain stuck in the Serie A relegation zone after playing out a draw at the Stadio Via del Mare today.

Rodney Strasser put Lecce ahead midway through the first period but Marco Rigoni drew Novara level from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time and neither side could force a winner in the second half.

The result leaves Lecce in 19th spot on five points, two above bottom club Cesena and two behind third-bottom Novara.

Parma 2 Cesena 0

Goals from Gabriel Paletta and Alessandro Lucarelli secured all three points for Parma as Cesena's Serie A misery continued today.

Cesena remain winless this season and the result at the Ennio Tardini stadium marked their sixth defeat in nine games and piled further pressure on coach Marco Giampaolo.

Paletta put the hosts in front before half-time after team-mate Sebastian Giovinco had seen his penalty saved by Cesena goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli.

Lucarelli then doubled Parma's advantage with 19 minutes remaining.

Udinese 1 Palermo 0

Udinese climbed up to second in Serie A after they claimed a slender win over Palermo at the Stadio Friuli.

Antonio Di Natale scored the only goal of the game after Udinese completely dominated the first half.

Palermo upped the pace after the break but failed to beat the defences of goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to suffer their fourth away defeat of the season.

The result meant the Udine-based club moved to within a point behind Serie A leaders Juventus in the overall standings with a superior goal difference over Lazio who could move level with victory over Cagliari in the late match.

Palermo, however, slipped to ninth.
