The Ministry of Tourism said this evening that the Institute for Tourism Studies and the Malta Union of Teachers had held a meeting and resolved outstanding issues.

The meeting was held after the union in the morning said that lecturers at the Institute of Tourism Studies were being assigned to teach subjects they were not qualified in, and which they had not applied to teach.

Furthermore, they were even being asked to sign declarations accepting to teach such subjects, and others as assigned by the ITS.

The union called on the Minister of Tourism to investigate and stop such goings on.

The union said its members could not be held responsible if standards dropped as a result of what was happening.
