More images have emerged of an island born in the wake of disaster after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit a remote province in Pakistan.

Soldiers, scientists, and locals toured the new land for the first time. Fish eggs were seen on the surface of the newborn island and seawater pools within the island's crevices. The island stands about 10 meters high and 400 meters wide.

A local fisherman said this was not the first time an island has popped-up on the ocean's surface due to an earthquake.

More than 300 people died in the quake that flattened villages, leaving locals desperately waiting for relief.
