'Being a lesbian is no sin: religion, sexuality and education in the lives of female students' is the title of an article by Joanne Cassar appearing in the Mediterranean Journal of Educational Studies (MJES), volume 14(1) which has recently been issued.

In another article on a religious theme, Esther Fernández Mostaza, Gloria García-Romeral and Clara Fons i Duocastella write about 'Navigating religious boundaries at school: from legitimate to specious religious questions'. Meanwhile, Evangelia Frydaki reviews the theory and research concerning values in teaching and the teaching of values, using Greece as a case study.

'Student transition to vocational education from middle secondary school in Australia and Lebanon' is the title of an exploratory study that Barend Vlaardingerbroek, Neil Taylor and Tom Haig write about.

Lebanon is also used as case study for an article on 'Financial aid at private universities in the Middle East: its impact on persistence and student satisfaction', jointly written by Ramzi Nasser, Diane Nauffal and Michael Romanowski.

Two articles from the Arab world are 'Multiculturalism, citizenship, and education in Morocco' by Moha Ennaji, and 'Policy process and education reform in the Arab World' by Munther Masri.

MJES is a biannual refereed international journal published by the University's Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Educational Studies (EMCER) and edited by the centre's director Ronald Sultana.
