Sandro Azzopardi Gioielleria celebrates its 10th anniversary this year which coincides with the jeweler's return to his roots: the sparks which ignited his career in the industry.

Azzopardi's understanding and passion for jewellery were formed in his grandfather's workshop. His knowledge of the design, development and manufacturing of jewellery was enhanced through training at Sotheby's in London and hands-on instruction in diamond-setting in Rome.

After successfully launched some of the major luxury jewellery brands on the island, Azzopardi is introducing his own range of jewellery.

To realise this new design concept Sandro Azzopardi Gioielleria has recruited as part of their team, the highly talented local artist Yasmin Modi. Her role as art director places her in charge of transferring design concepts to paper. Together, Azzopardi and Modi are creating designs under the theme "Jewellery as art" bringing into play bold intense colours to create vivid pieces. Gemstones include a rare 1.99ct Alexandrite, a 5.38ct Ceylon Sapphire and stunning Tanzanites.

Much of the design of a particular piece is based on the colour selection and inspiration of the stones, giving each piece inimitable style and value. This artistic design approach will also enable clients to have jewellery specifically designed for different occasions according to their personal tastes and requirements. New settings are being introduced and limited edition and one-off pieces will also be available. Each piece will be signed by a unique signature copyrighted by Sandro Azzopardi.
