Celebrating J.R.R Tolkien’s The Hobbit’s 75th anniversary and in anticipation of the forthcoming The Hobbit film in local cinemas, Euro Media Forum, Science is Culture, in conjunction with Eden Cinemas, are organising an event titled Return to Middle Earth – How the Lord of the Rings Began on Monday.

Speakers will take the audience on a fascinating journey through Tolkien’s fantasy and discuss what inspired the author to create Middle Earth and how it was masterfully brought to life by film director Peter Jackson with the Lord of the Rings trilogy and, now, The Hobbit.

To spice up the evening there will also be a Tolkien quiz, where the first winner will win two cinema tickets, a bowling game for two persons and free parking.

The second winner will win two cinema tickets and free parking while the third winner will win two cinema tickets.

Memorabilia of the films will also be on display.

The event will be held at the Workers’ Memorial Building in South Street, Valletta.

The premises will again host the memorabilia exhibition from December 18 to 22.

Entrance is free but bookings are recommended. Call 9945 4066, e-mail euromediaforum@gmail.com or visit the Facebook page.
