A Mass for the repose of PHYLLIS de PIRO d’AMICO INGUANEZ will be said tomorrow at 5pm at the Poor Clares Monastery, St Julian’s, celebrated by Fr Claude Portelli, St Julian’s parish priest. The attendance of family and friends will be appreciated.

Tomorrow being the 10th anniversary of the death of PETER DOGGETT WILLIAMS, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said tomorrow at 6.30pm at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema.

The Santa Venera external feasts committee will be holding a car wash on Sunday between 7am and 1pm in the square of the old parish church.

Choral singers’ concerts

The New Choral Singers will celebrate the advent of Christmas with their annual concert called Musical Tidings on December 13 at the Siġġiewi parish church, and again on December 19 at the Għargħur parish church, both at 7.30pm.

This year’s concerts will feature the only three known traditional Maltese Christmas carols, Ninni la Tibkiex Iżjed, Ninu Ninu tal-Milied and O Ġesù Ħelwa Tarbija.

Admission to both concerts is free, although a collection will be made in aid of St Joseph Home for young boys, which is run by the Missionary Society of St Paul. More information on www.thenewchoralsingers.com.

Annual bird show

The Malta Cage Birds Association will hold its 17th annual bird show at St Vincent De Paul Residence in Luqa between tomorrow and Sunday.

There will be some 1,500 birds on display, including coloured and posture canaries, exotic and European finches and colourful parrots.

All birds will be closed ringed and international judges from across Europe will be judging them. The show will be open to the public tomorrow from 5.30 until 9pm, on Saturday from 8am until 8pm, and Sunday between 8am and 6pm.
