Rabat 5
White Hart 2

This game can be described as a tale of two halves.

A very balanced first half saw both teams win four short corners each. White Hart went ahead in the 13th minute when Luke Borg Costanzi hit a well-timed volley as a result of a short corner action.

After a short spell of Rabat pressure, White Hart gave away a penalty after committing a mistake in defence in the 31st minute. Charlò Antonelli converted.

White Hart increased their pressure at the start of the second half. Anthony Azzopardi missed a sitter in the 41st minute and Rabat broke on the counter. Mario Galea scored to put Rabat ahead in the 44th minute.

Rabat then took the game by the scruff of the neck and confined White Hart to their own half, forcing seven short corners in 11 minutes.

Three goals were scored in the 45th, 50th and 55th minutes through Kevin Micallef, Josef Antonelli and Shawn Falzon to put the game beyond White Hart’s reach.

White Hart tried to regroup and managed to pull one back in the 68th minute with a crisp David Agius effort. The game had been over as a contest midway into the second half.

Umpires: S. Mifsud, P. Brincat.
