Puttinu Cares is organising its sixth annual football marathon at the Marsa Sports Complex between 10 a.m. on April 23 and 10 p.m. on April 25. The marathon aims to create awareness about cancer and generate solidarity for patients who travel to the UK for treatment.
During the last edition of the football marathon, enough funds were collected to purchase three apartments close to London's Royal Marsden Hospital, where the majority of patients undergo treatment. These apartments can easily accommodate six families.
During this year's marathon, Puttinu Cares hopes to raise enough money to buy more apartments in the UK, to accommodate Maltese people undergoing treatment.
Cancer patients and their families will be sharing their stories and experiences during the marathon. To participate or for more information, e-mail info@puttinucares.org.
