The Puttinu Cares Foundation will be hosting their first snooker competition at the Anglo Maltese League, Valletta, on September 25.

There will be one snooker table solely assigned for the competition and another for snooker enthusiasts during a 60-hour marathon.

This event is sponsored by St James Hospital.

All funds will go directly to the Puttinu Cares Foundation to continue the upkeep and help provide financial relief to those families whose young relatives are receiving medical treatment in the UK.

The Foundation works in conjunction with the Rainbow Ward staff at Mater Dei Hospital by helping them to buy medical and recreational equipment and other essentials which patients may need.

Often, young patients have to continue with their treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital in England which causes additional stress and strain on families.

To date, the Foundation has purchased three apartments in the vicinity of the hospital.
