Civil servants will meet with and answer questions from the general public as part of a Public Service Week to be held at the end of the month.

The meetings will discuss topics from consumer affairs to education, health, commerce, tourism, culture, social security and government contracts. They will be held between 30 May and 2 June.

There will be two meetings every day, with one held at Fort St Elmo and another at the Mediterranean Conference Centre. Meetings will take place between 6pm and 7.30pm. The government hopes that they will bring the public service into more direct contact with its clients and help it improve the government services on offer.

Another government initiative will bring Magistrates, social workers, police officers and public officials together to discuss how to improve court services for both victims and accused people.

Public Service Week will take place between 27 May and 3 June. Those interested in booking a place at the meetings can call 22001526.
