Regarding the ongoing controversy on whether Nicholas Azzopardi attempted suicide by jumping from a bastion, or whether he was assisted over the edge, no magisterial inquiry is likely to convince everybody one way or the other. In the interest of the reputation of the police force and so as not to waste the valuable time of magistrates or judges, it would be simpler and cheaper to erect a high strong wire mesh screen along the whole length of that section of the bastion that is screened from observation by the Forensic Laboratory building.
