Valletta FC will meet Ludogorets Razgrad or Mladost Podgorica should they qualify for the next group of the UEFA Champions League.

During the draws this afternoon, the Maltese champions got to know about the next potential opponents should they somewhat beat the odds at the expense of Serbia's Red Star.

Valletta lost 2-1 at home to the Serbian champions during their home match last Tuesday. This afternoon's draw was the champions route, involving the 17 winners of the second qualifying round ties (the second legs are next week) plus the champions of Greece, the Czech Republic and Romania.

The victors in both routes advance to the play-offs. Defeated sides transfer to the UEFA Europa League play-off round.

Meanwhile, Birkirkara FC will face Russia's Krasnodar should they overcome the challenge of Hearts of Scotland.

Birkirkara drew 0-0 in their home match last night.
