A few suppliers/traders have often asked not to feature postively resolved cases. However, over the years we have managed to persuade suppliers/traders that, ultimately, positively concluded cases reflect well on them. In fact, we are going through a period of great co-operation.

Melita Cable Joseph Mangion sent this letter to Melita Cable:

Following my recent telephone conversation with one of your customer care representatives, I am writing to complain about the price increase on the sports package for analogue subscribers. Having already paid a Lm64.99 annual subscription for this service last August, I do not expect to receive an additional charge. Another Lm39.96 was charged to my account for the same annual subscription of the Sports Channel.

It is understood that when one buys a service for an agreed fee, the contract is binding on both consumer and service supplier. Therefore, the supplier has no right to increase the price once full payment has been made.

I trust that due consideration be given to my complaint, whereby the said additional charge ought to be cancelled from my account. (Joseph Mangion)

Subsequently I received a letter from Kevin Borg, in which he told me that the case is considered closed. This was confirmed in a letter from Mr Mangion to Mr Borg:

Reference is made to the recent telephone conversation I had with one of your customer service representatives and your letter of October 8 to Mr Muscat Inglott. I am pleased to have been informed that the additional charge mentioned in my first letter will be removed from the account. However, as yet, I have received no written confirmation of this.

Consequently, kindly confirm in writing that the charge has been removed from my account, that the actual balance is nil, and that it includes payment for an annual subscription to the Sports Channel, which expires in August 31, 2008. (Joseph Mangion) Melita Cable replied:

Following our recent telephone conversation on October 12, I am writing to inform you that the Lm39.96 has been adjusted.

Until such time, when another bill is due, your balance stands at zero. (Carmen Mercieca, customer service representative)

I thank Ms Mercieca and Melita Cable for their co-operation.
