Bank of Valletta recently organised a one-day seminar for its financial advisers, where investment management techniques and portfolio management were discussed.
The group was exposed to various investment management techniques that serve to instigate a more insightful understanding of portfolio management.
The seminar included an interactive bourse game, whereby participants were grouped in teams and provided with a fictitious client profile and portfolio of €1 million in a hands-on exercise in investment and portfolio management.
Individual teams were given the challenge to invest the €1 million in line with best practices, making the most of the market while applying portfolio management techniques. The winning team was presented with a trophy by Charles Borg, chief officer for financial markets and investments.
Speaking during the presentation Mr Borg raised such interactive experiences, saying participants were exposed to practical situational events in a competitive environment that instigate the provision of service excellence in the investment sector.
