Keith Zammit writes:

'I am writing to ask about my rights as a customer when it comes to after-sales service in Malta.

'Exactly a year ago, on December 22, my parents bought me a Bulova watch (model 68F56), which only worked properly for three months.

'I have been chasing the shop owners, A. Agius of Valletta. Every time I phone or approach the manager he tries to transfer the problem onto me and keeps postponing my visit telling me that he was still awaiting a part from abroad.

'Am I going to wait forever? The manager is supposed to change the product or reimburse the equivalent of Lm200 (€466). But he managed to delay beyond the six months guarantee stipulated in the Maltese law.

'I hope to hear from you as soon as possible to guide me on what I have to do.'

I appeal to the A. Agius watch dealer to repair or replace Mr Zammit's watch.

Moreover, I also remind them that the legal guarantee is valid for two years.
