A policeman suffered a fractured nose from a headbutt when he intervened to stop a fight between five foreigners at a hotel in Marfa at about 1.30 a.m. today.

The scuffle was sparked by an argument between a French couple, a man, 47, and a woman, 20, and three Britons, two women, 73 and 54, and a man, 34.

Hotel employees called for assistance and two policemen from the Rapid Intervention Unit intervened. One of them was hurt.

The Frenchman and Britons were slightly injured during the fight.

The French couple were detained for further investigation.
