I refer to Valerie Borg's letter (Wailing Voices). The greatest blunder of the 1998 Nationalist Administration was the removal of the Lm0.50c charge introduced by the previous Sant Administration to obtain medicines from St Luke's Hospital. It was such a small charge but it made people think twice before obtaining free medicines to the detriment of more worthy patients. Many pills and other medicines obtained by these "patients" end up in some obscure drawer only to be thrown away as they expire because they are not made use of.
Any introduction of a similar charge in the present circumstances will surely further turn the tide of the electorate against the present PN Administration.
