The Nationalist Party hit out at the prime minister today for having delivered a speech in Parliament this morning in which he ignored the Caruana Galizia murder.

This, the PN said, had been the worst national tragedy the country had suffered in recent years, and Dr Muscat was insensitive when he ignored it. He was acting like it was business as usual instead of shouldering political responsibility. His actions reflected his falsity.

The PN said the Opposition would continue to call for justice and for political responsibility to be borne.

In a reaction, the Labour Party said the PN was trying to make political mileage from this murder.

In a democracy, it was investigations which led to justice, and not partisan speeches.

Furthermore, the government was taking unprecedented measures in order to deliver justice.
