The Nationalist Party has called on Labour leader Joseph Muscat to condemn and disassociate himself from an article on l-orizzont written by Labour candidate Joe Sammut.

The PN pointed out that the article, published last Monday, came just days after the Opposition voted for a parliamentary resolution which thanked President Eddie Fenech Adami for his service.

But, the PN said, in his article, Mr Sammut said that the Opposition vote did not represent what Labourites felt for Dr Fenech Adami. The only thing one could be grateful for was that he had retired.

The PN said Mr Sammut's article contrasted sharply with the Opposition vote in Parliament and Dr Muscat should disassociate himself and the party from it.
