Enemalta has issued a directive to drastically reduce flexibility in the teleworking scheme workers were entitled to, the Nationalist Party said.

It said that the decision was temporarily suspended following the workers’ reaction and appealed for it to be completely revoked.

As it expressed solidarity with workers and their families who were badly affected by this decision, the party recalled that Prime Minister Joseph Muscat had promised in his electoral programme that the PL’s objective was to make Malta one of the most family-friendly countries in Europe in terms of both legislation and incentives.

The PN said it was not against reforms which increased efficiency but opposed decisions which undermined workers’ efforts to improve work and family balance.

It appealed to the management, the chairman and the minister to ensure that the decision was revoked for the Prime Minister to be consistent to what he had promised.
