UEFA president Michel Platini could announce this week whether he intends to bid for another four-year mandate.

A report in L'Equipe newspaper today claimed Platini, elected for the first time in 2007, would announce his intention to stand again for president at UEFA's Congress in Tel Aviv on March 23-25.

Sources close to the UEFA chief told AFP Platini was "not totally decided" on his future plans, but said if he was to make any announcement concerning his future it would "logically be done in front of the Congress on March 25".

A draw will be held at the Congress on March 25 to determine the qualifying group fixtures for the 2012 European Championship.

So far the teams have not yet been able to agree on certain dates.

The groups concerned are Groups B (Russia, Slovakia, Ireland, Macedonia, Armenia, Andorra), F (Croatia, Greece, Israel, Latvia, Georgia, Malta), G (England, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Wales, Montenegro) and H (Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Cypris, Iceland).
