The Labour Party today called for a debate in Parliament on the State of the Environment Report, published last week.

Party environment spokesman Leo Brincat said that although the report was based on two-year-old data, it was important that its findings were acted upon, rather than being forgotten.

He said the debate would also focus on the shortcomings noted in the report, and the recommendations that had been made.

The debate would also include the government's road map for a better environment and the role of all stake holders in the environment.
