Preparations are in full swing to turn the sumptuous gardens of Villa Bologna in Attard into the unique catwalk for this evening's The Pink Fashion Show, a Times of Malta event, aimed at welcoming summer in style.

The festival spirit is already spreading like wildfire along the luscious lawns as they are dressed up to suit the garden party theme.

The 30 models, who will be showcasing must-have items from nine brands along a natural runway that has never been used before, have arrived and are busy getting their hair and make-up done by equally big numbers of make-up artists and hairdressers.

Screen Team Malta are creating natural, almost angelic, looks for the girls, while make-up is also practically nude to the point that they look fresh, simple and pure.

And to crown the look, floral designer Alistair has created over 30 individual head pieces, works of art, from gorgeous fresh flowers.

Flowers dominate the gardens and also make their way onto the backdrop, which has been set aside to be protected from the sun until the doors open for the second Pink fashion show that Times of Malta has embarked on since November.

The event promises a number of surprises, as guests can listen to live music on armchairs and crack open a bottle of their favourite drinks from iced buckets on the lawn before moving on to see Tommy Hilfiger, Armani Jeans, Guess, New Look, River Island, Esprit, Oysho, Miss Selfridge, Nadine Milano, Furla and Swarowski strut their stuff.
