The government is working on a plan to provide proper facilities for children with mental health problems, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Chris Fearne said this afternoon.

He was replying to questions after the call made last week by the Opposition against admitting children with mental health problems in the same wards of adults.

Dr Fearne welcomed the Opposition's call but  remarked that they had been already working to address thus issue.

The Parliamentary Secretary was speaking during the inauguration of a new ward for women at Mount Carmel Hospital. The ward will be specializing in the treatment of patients with mental health problems and drug addiction.
