The Pietà Hotspurs Youth Nursery has just participated in the Summer's Manchester Cup 2008 that was held between July 27 and August 2. The nursery fielded five teams, two in the U-9 category and one each in the U-10, U-11 and U-13 age-groups.

In the U-9 competition, Pietà Hotspurs had one team that went all the way in the Challenge Cup, beating Clayton Villa 4-0 in the final. The other U-9 Hotspurs side placed second in the cup competition, losing to Urmston Town in the final.

The U-10 team enjoyed a good run in the cup before they bowed out of the tournament at the semi-final stage after losing a penalty shoot-out.

There was success for the Pietà U-11 team who won the Cup after they eased past Wythenshawe Town 6-0 in the final while the U-13's lost the cup final in a penalty shoot-out with Moston Brook after the final had ended in a 0-0 draw.

Several clubs and schools from different countries participated in this tournament. The 90-strong Pietà Hotspurs contingent in Manchester, made up of players, coaches and parents, was led by Jesmond Delia.

During their stay in the UK, the Pietà players had the opportunity to visit the City of Manchester Stadium and Old Trafford.
