When the last Great War ended in 1945, the world was stunned by the immense atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis on the Jewish people in Germany and in the occupied countries like France, Holland, Poland etc; this sometimes with the full connivance of some of the inhabitants of the conquered lands. A huge swell of sympathy was expressed by most countries towards the Jews. Somehow many people felt guilty about this tragedy and believed that they should have done something much before this occurred.

When Israel was established in 1948, most of the free world approved this birth of a Jewish State and little sympathy was shown towards the thousands of Palestinians abandoning their homes and fleeing to Jordan and Lebanon. Now it seems that history is repeating itself. The persecuted have now become the persecutors. They are inflicting mass punishment on the whole population of Gaza, women and children included. A typical Nazi tool to spread terror.

Like on the previous occasion the world looks passively away. Perhaps it is difficult to show dissent on a fat belly!
