Pasta Poiatti Qormi 1 Rabat Depiro 0

\n

Rabat started the game strongly, creating a number of chances and pressing Qormi in their own half. The first short corner was awarded to Pasta Poiatti but Seychell's shot went wide of the goal. Rabat were dominating possession but Pasta Poiatti grew in confidence as time passed by and the tandem Seychell and Magri was causing problems to the opponents' defence.

A quick counter attack by Rabat saw Jason Vella mishitting the ball when he had a clear sight of goal and after another Kevin Micallef run, Rene Antonelli missed a sitter.

Rabat were awarded their first short corner after 55 minutes and from that action Falzon scored what seemed to be a valid goal. The umpire, however, thought otherwise. When Pasta Poiatti's Magri was dismissed it seemed a matter of time before Rabat would score the winner.

The game seemed heading for extra time when Bonnici slipped a throughpass to Grima who was fouled in the Rabat goal. The same Grima stepped up and hit the penalty into the net. There was barely time for Rabat to restart the game as the final whistle found Pasta Poiatti with a place in Sunday's final.

Young Stars 1 Athlete's Foot 1
(Young Stars win 4-1 on penalties)

The Athlete's Foot were forced to make some changes from the typical formation due to the absence of Caruana Smith and Monaghan while Young Stars' only notable absentee was Charles Micallef.

After some good hockey from both sides, Young Stars opened the score with a great reverse shot from Chris Attard who was left unmarked in the dee. Young Stars tried to press home this advantage but their short corner taking on the day was completely off.

Sliema soon got back into the game and scored a fine goal through Liam Pace who fired a rising shot past Mizzi.

The second half saw Young Stars creating the better chances but as no other goal was scored extra-time was played. Eventually the penalties had to resolve the issue.

The Athlete's Foot started but Busuttil Leaver saw his shot hit the post. Chris Attard scored for Young Stars while Pace saw his penalty saved by Mizzi. Chris Bugeja made it two out of two for Young Stars while Sliema's third taker, Xuereb, also failed.

Magro then calmly slotted home to give his team an unassailable lead and a berth in the final.
