It would appear that George Cassar thinks people who have had to take extreme measures to prevent cars parking in front of their garages are privileged (February 8).

Well, nothing could be further from the truth.

The reason that we are forced to take these extreme measures is that people continuously park their cars in front of our garages and leave them there all day.

I have missed hospital appointments and flights due to these selfish and irresponsible people. Even double yellow lines, signs informing people that the garage is in use 24 hours a day and tow-zone signs are not enough; our garages are still blocked.

The only consolation is that now they receive a parking ticket but unfortunately the double yellow lines mean that we can't park outside our own house.

I would be very grateful if Mr Cassar could advise me what to do to prevent these people parking their cars in front of my garage.
